My website serves as a curated portfolio of my work through Bigbee Visuals and the FAMU School of Journalism and Graphic Communication, showcasing my photography, storytelling, and creative direction across editorial, brand, and cultural projects.

Ashley Bigbee is a graduating fourth-year journalism scholar from Atlanta, Georgia, at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. A multimedia storyteller and creative strategist, Ashley has built a strong foundation across photojournalism, digital media, and corporate communications, with a passion for producing impactful, culturally relevant content that informs, engages, and inspires diverse audiences.

During her time at FAMU, Ashley has grown as a leader and creative through her work with The Famuan, where she serves as Director of Photography and Staff Writer. In this role, she has led visual storytelling initiatives for major cultural moments, including producing content for Essence Magazine during FAMU Homecoming and covering significant events such as the “Save Our History” March alongside Rev. Dr. Al Sharpton. Her work has also been recognized on a national stage, with visual content featured in the College Football Hall of Fame, highlighting the legacy and cultural impact of the FAMU Marching 100. Through these experiences, she has developed a sharp eye for capturing authentic moments and translating them into compelling narratives that resonate with audiences.

Ashley is also the founder of Bigbee Visuals, a creative media business through which she has worked with notable brands and organizations, including Essence Magazine, AT&T, and HBCU-centered campaigns. Through Bigbee Visuals, she has led photography and content creation for major activations, including the AT&T Rising Future Maker Homecoming experience and collaborative projects with Paramount and Nickelodeon. Her entrepreneurial experience has strengthened her ability to manage clients, execute creative direction, and deliver high-quality visual content that aligns with brand identity and audience engagement goals.

Her digital media experience extends to her role with Florida A&M University’s Department of Athletic Communications, where she has enhanced brand visibility for NCAA Division I athletic programs through strategic content creation. She has contributed to social media campaigns that generated over 353,000 interactions and helped achieve a top-10 national ranking in FCS football engagement. Her ability to merge analytics with creativity has strengthened her approach to audience engagement and brand storytelling.

Professionally, Ashley was selected as a Corporate Communications Fellow with the Oklahoma City Thunder through the NBA x HBCU Fellowship Program. As one of a select group of students chosen nationwide, she supported internal and external communications strategies, drafted press materials, and collaborated across marketing and community engagement teams. She is also recognized as an AT&T Rising Future Maker and has gained valuable brand marketing experience as a Starry Ambassador with PepsiCo, where she executed campus activations and developed hands-on experience in consumer engagement and advertising strategy.

On campus, Ashley has demonstrated strong leadership as President of the FAMU Chapter of the NAACP, where she led initiatives centered on civic engagement, political awareness, and community impact. She also served as Third Vice President and Historian, overseeing archival storytelling and organizational operations. Additionally, she serves as Historian for the FAMU National Pan-Hellenic Council, preserving the legacy of the Divine Nine through digital storytelling and content creation. Ashley is a proud member of the Real Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where she actively contributes to service, leadership, and sisterhood.

Originally from Atlanta, Ashley brings a bold, creative, and culturally grounded perspective to her work. Following graduation, she will pursue a Master’s degree in Marketing at Georgia State University, further strengthening her expertise at the intersection of media, branding, and strategic communications. Looking ahead, she aspires to build a career that blends journalism, marketing, and entertainment, using storytelling as a tool to amplify underrepresented voices, shape cultural narratives, and create lasting impact across media platforms.
